In the past year, your generous donations have allowed us to:
- Add more than 500 books to our collection – books written below the fifth-grade level so our adult learners can develop reading skills.
- Provide over 100 workbooks to learners.
- Purchase materials that help people struggling with dyslexia.
Materials and supplies for our free one-on-one tutoring, workshops, and citizenship classes for adults – all provided by a staff of trained and dedicated literacy volunteers are urgently needed to assist learners in improving their basic English literacy skills all year round.
Your donation to Literacy Volunteers-Huntington Beach Public Library, a nonprofit volunteer organization, will provide an adult learner with the resources that are the first steps to increased literacy.
