I joined Literacy Services because I could not imagine my life without reading, and have found the sharing of that skill immensely satisfying.  I have also lived where I did not speak the language, and so I have great admiration for our learners who are trying to improve their English skills.  It is not easy to learn a new language as an adult, and they all seem to be doing far better than I would in their place.  Now it’s all fun for me – Chat Time is such a pleasure to do and I am learning about our language and culture right along with everyone else.
